Accounts Payable & Financial Control Accountant

Department objectives & priorities:
1- Procure-to-Pay & Supplier Management
· Monitor Purchase Orders in Naos Store and Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt (GRIR) in SAP
· Review supplier invoice accuracy and ensure timely booking of supplier invoices in ESKER and SAP
· Maintain GRIR accounts and ensure no aged balances remain outstanding beyond the acceptable timeline
· Prepare supplier reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with suppliers and internal stakeholders
· Prepare and process vendor payment proposals in line with approved payment schedules
· Record supplier payment transactions in SAP accurately and timely
· Record non-PO related supplier charges and expense claims (N2F)
- Banking Operations & Treasury Coordination
- Record and monitor bank transactions in SAP accurately and on a timely basis.
- Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations and investigate reconciling items promptly.
- Ensure proper follow-up and clearing of outstanding banking transactions.
- Coordinate with banks regarding operational matters, transaction queries, compliance requests, and banking documentation.
- Support bank-related audits, KYC updates, and requests from financial institutions.
- Maintain effective communication with banking partners to ensure smooth execution of payment and collection processes.
- Prepare and maintain actual cash flow reports and monitor daily cash movements.
- Assist in monitoring cash balances and support treasury-related reporting requirements.
- Ensure all banking activities are performed in compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Monitor and maintain company card statements and related accounting entries
3- Accruals & Financial Control
· Prepare and maintain accruals related to operating expenses and supplier invoices
· Prepare reconciliations for vendor accounts, prepayments, advances, and accrual accounts
· Ensure proper accounting and reconciliation of intercompany expenses where applicable
· Support fixed asset accounting including asset creation, capitalization, and depreciation runs
· Ensure proper supporting documentation is attached to journal entries in SAP
4- Reporting & Monitoring
· Prepare monthly AP aging reports and supplier outstanding analysis
· Prepare monthly account schedules and reconciliations for accounts under responsibility
· Support management with ad-hoc expense analysis and reporting requests
· Monitor payment due dates to ensure timely supplier settlement and avoid penalties
Stakeholder Management & Coordination
· Act as the main point of contact for matters related to payables, accruals, supplier reconciliations, and payment processing
· Coordinate and manage requests from external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate provision of supporting documentation and explanations
· Liaise with tax authorities and tax advisors on queries related to supplier transactions and indirect tax matters
· Work closely with procurement, supply chain, HR, logistics, and finance teams to ensure alignment between operational activities and financial reporting
· Support cross-functional projects impacting the Procure-to-Pay cycle
· Ensure clear communication and timely resolution of issues impacting financial reporting or controls
5- Month-End Closing & Financial Control
· Execute month-end closing activities related to Accounts Payable and operating expenses in line with the official closing calendar
· Ensure timely and accurate closure of supplier transactions and validation of AP postings
· Prepare, obtain approval, and post accruals and expense provisions as per closing deadlines
· Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations for accounts under scope (AP, accruals, prepayments, GRIR, advances, and related clearing accounts)
· Investigate and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis and ensure proper supporting documentation
· Ensure all supporting schedules are properly documented and archived in line with internal control and audit requirements
· Collaborate with FP&R team to ensure consistency between management reporting and accounting records
· Contribute to continuous improvement of closing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce closing timelines
Mission & challenges of the position:
1. Ensure full control and accuracy over Accounts Payable, banking operations, accruals, and month-end closing activities.
2. Maintain timely supplier payments, accurate reconciliations, and compliance with company policies and internal controls.
3. Support management with reliable financial information and continuous process improvements.
In this role, you will take ownership of the following:
1. Manage supplier invoices, reconciliations, payment processing, and GRIR monitoring using ESKER and SAP
2. Perform banking operations including bank reconciliations, transaction booking, and cash flow monitoring.
3. Prepare accruals, prepayments, and month-end closing activities in line with accounting standards.
4. Support audits, compliance requirements, and financial reporting activities.
5. Coordinate with suppliers, banks, procurement, logistics, HR, and finance teams.
6. Contribute to process improvements and strengthening of internal controls.
Experienced in:
1. Accounts Payable and General Accounting processes.
2. SAP-based finance operations and month-end closing activities.
3. Banking operations, reconciliations, and supplier management.
Proficient in:
- SAP (FI/MM), Advanced Excel, Financial Reporting and Reconciliation
- English (working proficiency)
- Arabic or French is a plus
Education & experience required:
